Especially For Newcomers

Discover North Atlanta Parlor (Room 110)

Here is your starting place. This introduction to the North Atlanta Church of Christ provides a new member or guest an overview of the background, beliefs, and purposes of the church. This is an ongoing one month class, and you may join at any time. The class also explains opportunities for spiritual growth and congregational involvement.

Foundations of Faith (Room 108)

Basic characters and stories of scripture are examined and brought to life with emphasis on current application. This class typically rotates through key themes from three biblical books: Genesis, John, and Acts. New students may join at any time.

Anchor Ministry (Gym)

This class provides spiritual guidance to any person in addiction recovery. People with no past addiction experience are encouraged to participate and to offer personalized assistance.

These challenging studies give a foundation for Godly living and spiritual growth.

Inquirer's Starting Place (Room 105)

This class is designed to answer basic questions of faith and doctrine. In addition to providing time to address your own personal interests, basic topics include backgrounds of this church, as well as biblical doctrines such as salvation, spiritual growth, and worship. If you have questions or doubts about spiritual topics, this class will be refreshing.

Classes Generally Divided By Age Or Life Stage

Crown Financial (Conference Room)

Most Christians have been taught God’s principles of handling only ten percent of their income—the area of giving. Although this is crucial, they do not understand the Lord’s perspective on handling the other ninety percent. In this practical study, you can enter into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as you learn what scripture teaches about money and possessions. The next class will begin in January 2008. Class size is limited to eight persons. Call 770-399-5222 to reserve a space.

New Beginnings (Room 111)

This class includes couples from the engagement to the preschooler stage. While most participants are in their first marriage, newly married people of any age or stage are encouraged to participate.

Are you hungry to dive into God's word? Then join us for a class structured to take us through Paul's encounters of faith as we cover the books of Galations, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians to nourish our hunger.

College Class (Room 112)

This class is designed for young people and college students in their late teens and early twenties.

Study: Everyday Christianity

This study is designed to help young people make everyday life choices based on true wisdom that comes from God’s word.

CrossTrainers (Room 115)

Most participants in this class are young adult singles.

Study: The Aroma of Christ/REACH

The first half of this class will be taught on how we can become the aroma of Christ to those around us. The second half will focus on specific ways to be Jesus to those around us.

Abundant Life (Room 109)

This class is designed for parents of preschool and school-age children. Marital status is not a prerequisite.

Study: The Nature of God

The most important topic to confront the mind of man is the nature of his creator. Our study will explore what can be known about God beginning with the evidences for His existence and moving to what His names tell us about Him and the ways He has revealed Himself to us.

Journeys and Pathfinders (Room 106)

Most people in this class are married, single, or single again in the early or middle years of adulthood. If they have children, they are school-age children living at home.

Study: Living Out the Good News in a Post-Modern World

This class will take lessons from John 3:16 and the gospels to learn how to live the good news in a fallen world. Have you ever asked yourself, "How is John 3:16 relevant to starving children in Darfur?" The focus will be to challenge ourselves to be relevant.

Ambassadors (Room 104)

Participants represent a variety of ages from young adult to seniors, but the majority consider themselves middle-aged.

This class involves people who consider themselves to be at retirement age.

Study: The History of Christianity and study of Islam

Since the events of 9/11, the west has been introduced anew to the religion that began in 7th century Arabia. We will examine the origins of Islam, the prophet Mohammed, and the Qur'an as they relate to events of our time. We will also compare and contrast basic Muslim beliefs with the basic beliefs of Christianity.

Jesus, The Savior (Room 102)

Teachers: Douglas & Vanessa Ribeiro
This challenging study of the gospel story is for any person who prefers to study the scriptures in Spanish. Whether Spanish is your native language or you are improving proficiency in Spanish, you will be blessed from the study and from the fellowship.
